Built-in Office Cabinets

My built-in office cabinets. are. done!!!!   So, remember when you gave birth and you were like, “I am never going to forget how my body felt”, and then three short months later, you totally were on board to possibly have another and go through it all again?? Yeah, it’s about the same after building a massive desk and office furniture!

In all seriousness, I am so glad I started with the hardest project in my house, because now all of the others seem small in comparison. I think I just need a small break before tackling my next build! I started this project in April and between working full time and traveling for my job, and kid activities, and summer vacations, I finally finished. Can I just say, I love how it turned out and can’t wait to unpack all of our stuff and fill those bookcases?!

As a little surprise, I am not even sure that Sandra knows that I added a corkboard wall and desk grommets for electrical cords, but I did and I think it will be very useful.  Here is all 23′ of desk and our beautiful office  furniture!

If you want to see how these built-in office cabinets came together, you can read my Sawdust Diaries right here: 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7.

This whole experience has been a wonderful one.  Sandra has the patience of a saint!  Thank you Sandra for sticking with me to the end!

I love Cara’s room!  It is beautiful, functional and pure awesomeness.   I am proud to have been a part of this DIY journey. ~Sandra

OMG…. YAY FOR YALL! I’m so very impressed. Giant, huge amount of work! And looking to cute doing it with your dimples and pink toolbelt!!!! My husband got me a pink/black tool set & bag for my birthday and is still grumbling about ‘pink freakin’ tools’. I don’t care, I toss my hair and go back to my power tools and pink hand tools smiling away. Seriously though? You have inspired me to at least try one bookcase! Thanks so much for sharing your diary and great job.

  21. Gil says:

The end product is nothing short of amazing! It is better than anything I have ever seen done before, more so because I saw how easy each step was. My compliments and respect to your abilities.

I am not clear how you assembled the drawer fronts or attached the drawer glides. Did I miss something somewhere? I am ready to begin my own built-in in my spare room, but I hesitate until I can see the drawer fronts and their assembly. Can you help?

  22. Alessandro says:

    Really cool! Love it.

  23. Regus says:

Good thing about built-in office furniture is it could be used as a storage solution and as a décor. You have done a great job with this one. Keep posting!

That was a whole lot of work and it deserves a whole lot of praises too, it’s awesome looking.
